Maurice Roucel

Maurice Roucel is a contemporary perfumer who as of 2006 works at Symrise. Roucel began his career in perfumery in 1973 while working as a chromatography chemist at Chanel. He commenced his apprenticeship under Henri Robert, Chanel's house perfumer at the time.

Maurice Roucel has created many notable perfumes including: Gucci Envy (1997), Hermes 24 Faubourg (1995), Serge Lutens, Iris Silver Mist (1994), Krizia K, Rochas Tocade, and composed two fragrances for Guerlain including L'Instant de Guerlain (2004) and Insolence (2006). He was also the winner of the Prix François Coty in 2002
