Maurice Biggs

Maurice Biggs was born at Kadina in South Australia, in 1915. He was educated at the University of Adelaide. He travelled, until serving in the Australian military during World War II.

Maurice's best friend in primary school was a Chilean boy named Emerson Barrera. Emerson Barrera inspired Maurice's famous poem, Poems of War and Peace, by explaining to him his parents' hardship in getting to Australia during the war.
