Maurice Archieri
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Maurice Archieri is a modern antipope, self-proclaimed "Peter II" in France in 1995. He shares the name "Peter II" with Manuel Corral, who succeeded Clemente Domínguez y Gómez as the Pope of the Palmarian Catholic Church in 2005, and a number of other claimants.
Like Michel Collin (Clement XV) has done from 1950 to 1968, he links himself to Our Lady at la Salette and to theories concerning a "secret" connected with her. However he is unlike Colin, and more like most other antipopes, in being strongly Traditionalist Catholic. He believes that he is a Prophet of the End Times and a Pope chosen by the Holy Spirit. He considers Pope John Paul II to have been a heretic or possibly a prophet for the Antichrist for promoting what he deems a false humanist religion. He is said to have been an automobile mechanic before his current claims. [1]
