Maureen Teefy

Maureen Teefy (born October 26, 1953 in Minneapolis, Minnesota) is an American dancer and film and theatre actress who has appeared in such movies as Grease 2, Fame and Supergirl.

Maureen Jane Teefy was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. One of eight sisters, Maureen won admittance to the Children's Theater School of Mineapolis summer program at age 15 where she received actor's training and later taught dramatics in the local Howe Elementary School. [citation needed] In 1972, she graduated from Washburn High School.
[edit] Acting Career
Maureen's first screen role was an a small part in the 1979 Steven Spielberg's comedy hit 1941 and after, in this same year she appeared in more two minor productions, Fyre and Scavangers Hunt. Her most famous role was in the 1980 Alan Parker musical drama Fame, portraying Doris, a naive young acting student. In 1981, she starred in the made-for-TV-film The Diary of a Teenage Shopliffter.
Other films featuring Teefy include Grease 2, Supergirl and Sunset. Teefy starred in films like the 1993 supernatural horror thriller Star Time, directed by her own husband Alexander Cassini. Her last apparence to date in films was the 2000 romantic comedy Men Seeking a Women.
She appeared on the 1997 horror television series Perversions of Science. Other television roles include Legs and Disaster at Silo 7. She also been guest-starred on series including Max Hedroom and Mike Hammer, Private Eye. But her acting career developed much more in the theater, singing and dancing in several Broadway musicals. She still acts and performs starring (directing and writing) her own musical play Timeflies.

Teefy lives a quiet life with her husband Alexander Cassini and her daughter Isabella.
