Maureen Naylor


Maureen Naylor is an American television news anchor and currently does the weekend newscasts for KFSN ABC 30 Action News. Prior to KFSN-TV Maureen was the lead anchor during the weekday edition of NCN as well as for KNVN and KHSL in Chico, CA and did local break-ins for Your Show Live from 2002-2004. Maureen started as a Field reporter for KCOY in Santa Maria, CA in 1999 until 2002. Maureen is a graduate from UC Davis and grew up in Burlingame, CA. Maureen is one of five siblings raised to a mother born in Mexico City and a father from her hometown of Burlingame, CA. Maureen currently lives in Clovis, CA and is filling in for Margot Kim who is on maternity leave due to her giving birth to a young baby boy.


Biography

Maureen Naylor joined Action News in March 2005 as the Weekend Anchor on Action News at Six and Action News Live at Eleven. The Bay Area native has covered breaking news, wildfires, and elections all over the Golden State during her career. Maureen was in Yosemite National Park during the 2005 floods and at the landing of the Shuttle Discovery in the Mojave Desert. Her interviews range from politicians to athletes, including Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy, Tom Brokaw, and Mary Lou Retton.

Maureen fell in love with reporting during an internship in San Luis Obispo for KCOY. Shortly after, she was offered her first reporting job there. From the Central Coast of California, Maureen moved north to KNVN/KHSL in Chico. She worked from reporter to morning show anchor to evening anchor, and her show was nominated for an Emmy for best newscast. Maureen studied at University of California, Davis and Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo where she played lacrosse and graduated with honors with a Double Major in Journalism and History. Maureen also studied abroad in Spain, giving her the opportunity to use her Spanish and travel through Europe and Africa.

Maureen is grateful to have found this career which allows her to learn something new everyday. She especially appreciates people sharing their lives and stories with her.

Maureen comes from a big family of five siblings. Her mother grew up in Mexico City, her father in Burlingame, California. Outside of work, Maureen likes to swing dance, drive all over California, play piano, golf, and bake chocolate chip cookies.
