Mauranipur is a town near Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh, India. It has a large community of bankers and traders. A special variety of red cotton cloth, known as kharua, is manufactured and exported to parts of India.

Mauranipur has an average literacy rate of 62%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 70%, and female literacy is 54%.
