Maum meditation

Maum Meditation is a meditation method aimed on discovering one's inner truth through meditation. In Korean Maum, pronounced Mah-Eum, means the mind, soul or spirit. Maum Meditation was founded by Woo Myung in 1996 in Mt Gaeryong.

In Maum it is believed that, through meditation practice,one can discard the self that has lived until this moment. Only by throwing away past good and bad memories; inner truth and happiness can be achieved. The meditation technique could be applied by anyone through an easy, yet unique process. Participants have found that this very simple, step-by-step method lets everyone come to self realization, inner truth, and happiness.

In Korea, instructors have lectured on Maum Meditation to numerous employees at the Bank of Korea, Hospital Baek, Samsung, MBC Culture Center and Kia Motors. Under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Education, Maum Meditation has been giving lectures and promoting the practices to teachers. University professors have also been promoting the meditation technique at the Association of University Education.

Over 200,000 people have become members of the Association of Maum Meditation (AMM). Thousands of people are practicing Maum Meditation at 87 training centers in Korea and in other countries such as Japan, Canada, Australia, France and the United States.

Maum Meditation has no association with any religion. The sole focus of Maum Meditation is to cleanse the mind to see the reality of the universe. One of the key concepts is that through Maum's meditation methods, humans can become one with the universe and gain eternal life.
