[edit] Unspecified source for Image:ATreeGrowsInBrooklynBookCover.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:ATreeGrowsInBrooklynBookCover.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. User:Angr 09:47, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] World's Largest Buffalo
Please do not delete the information that I have posted on the World's Largest Buffalo page. All of the information is 100% factual and it deserves to be posted there. There is not one thing posted that is not true, do your research before you delete information, if you have to make a phone call, do it. Don't assume that you know everything, because you obviously do not. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Idontsteal (talk • contribs).
Please stop deleting the information I have posted about the World's Largest Buffalo. It is all factual information and has a right to be posted on that page. Please email me with your problems regarding my information, I will be happy to speak with you about it. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Idontsteal (talk • contribs).
I have taken the time to edit the entry to incorporate most of the new points in a clean and encyclopedic manner. --AlexWCovington (talk) 18:19, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
Thank you for looking into this matter, I appreciate the help and concern. I hate to see factual information left out of articles. I believe that the page is now better and more informative. I will add more information later, as I obtain sources. Idontsteal 18:53, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
The information that I contributed to the wiki page is also contained in the link I provided in the external links section (RealND). The Chia pet claim is difficult to cite, as it has no online presence, however through personal relationships with those involved in this magnificent project, and as the projects official publicist, I am able to verify it's credibility. I would also go so far as to consider some of this information abouot the sculpture 'common knowledge', however I understand the importance of citation and do not intentionally overlook it at any time. In any case, the only "unusual" facts about the World's Largest Buffalo are those regarding actually being a large concrete buffalo, and the Chia project. I do not feel that the cost numbers, dimensions, location details, or construction materials are unusual. This kind of information is included in many references and I felt that it deserved its place on the Wiki as well. Thank you for your concern on this matter and I look forward to working on other articles with you in the future.

[edit] Thanks!
Thanks for the edits on the UMC article. You must be sleepless in Grand Forks too. I was not very proactive in reading through the guidelines for article tone but will ensure that future additions will be appropriate.--Farmboy6 15:06, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Edits to WDAZ Article
Hi, I made a minor edit to the news team list on the WDAZ article. I removed Lori Cowan from the anchor list, as she left in early July. John Bernstrom will also be leaving August 2nd. --Rick Abbott 01:17, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] NDSU Page
Hello,
Sorry, I am new to wiki and not sure exactly how everything works. The only reason I copied the mission etc. is because I saw other schools do it and there is no way to reword it.
The other stuff I put up knowing that someone would show me how its suppose to be edited (I suppose this isnt the best way to go about it). Anyways, I was planning on reworking much of it. I was using another school as a guide, they had copied alot directly so I assumed it was alright for other stuff.
I will remember this for the future.
Thanks --Ndstate 06:40, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Red River High School
your edits include a lot of information that is irrelevant with the abstract at the beginning, and does not encompass enough information within the body. It is simply a list of a few sports awards and drama classes. This is a high school that focuses on academics. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.111.53.82 (talk • contribs).
cleaning up an article doesn't involve removing everyone elses edits. you may have been here a long time but that doesn't give you the right to choose what is put on a page and what isn't. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Nbansal4732 (talk • contribs).
uh oh! what will I do!? did I make you sad? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Nbansal4732 (talk • contribs).
hello, I would like to apologize for my recent comments. I was a bit frustrated and should not have attacked you like that. I hope we can both enjoy a great wikipedia experience together. Best regards, Nbansal4732 18:49, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] WPND AFD Alert: Hawktree Golf Club
Hawktree Golf Club is up at AFD. Please vote to keep this North Dakota related article. --AlexWCovington (talk) 02:16, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
- What are we going to do about this? BlueValour seems to be on a campaign to get rid of the golf course articles. --AlexWCovington (talk) 06:26, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
- I've talked with BV and he seems willing to let us work this out on our own from here out. If we start merging a lot of golf course articles, we should probably create a List of golf courses in North Dakota so we can come back to all of them eventually. --AlexWCovington (talk) 15:41, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
- I suppose we can do it on a case-by-case basis; Articles that have more than the basic stub text placed by Leopold should be kept, and the rest merged in if we can't think of anything to add. The list of golf courses should contain links to the communities the pages were merged to, so the information can be quickly retrieved for future breakout articles. --AlexWCovington (talk) 18:33, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
- Aye, just merge in a few at a time, I guess. I'll help out when I have time... lot of homework this week. --AlexWCovington (talk) 02:19, 21 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Grand Cities Mall
WPND has to work as a unit on this one, just like with Hawktree. I just wish these weren't both done in such short order... sigh... There's a reason I have my bookmark for AfD labelled as "Hell". --AlexWCovington (talk) 15:01, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
- I just did what I thought would help out. Brian deserves just as much credit. --AlexWCovington (talk) 06:52, 15 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Please vote on this discussion
I see you are quite an active editor. I have been discussing with another editor whether or not my company qualifies under WP:CORP We feel that it does under the first point. The other editor keeps bringing up things that are not in the rules outlined under WP:CORP Please comment on this discussion http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Enigma_software_group

Seeing as you like writing North Dakota articles, you should re-write the Roland Riemers page. It is pretty bad right now. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Tyleroar (talk • contribs).
[edit] regarding Rene Clausen
I have recently noticed that you have attempted to delete my article on Dr. Rene Clausen. Let me assure you, Dr. Clausen is a well-known and respected figure in modern choral arts. You opinions on his notability seem quite questionable. Tell me what I am doing wrong in your view and please respond quickly! I severly wish for my article not to be deleted!
Thank you, User:wittj
[edit] North Dakota, South Dakota, it's all the same...
Just kidding of course. I don't know why I did that... brain fart, maybe. Jcam 04:23, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Major Highways
Major Highways capitalized is standard in most states. Please check the history of Cass County, North Dakota, and note that you were the last person to edit that page before my edit. The Major Highways section was capitalized then, and you were the last person to edit that page before my edit, why didn’t you change the format then? --MNAdam 05:18, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
- I have to disagree with Adam. Capitalizing "Highways" goes against the MoS even if it is common in other states' articles. --AlexWCovington (talk) 05:27, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
- I agree with you Alex and I just said so at Adam's talk page. --MatthewUND(talk) 05:32, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
- I checked the Wikipedia:WikiProject U.S. counties, for a template for counties and found that there it is posted as "Major highways", however when the template was first written all headers were capitalized, which probably explains why some states have headings capitalized. The capitalization of the headings in counties was removed from the template on December 5th, 2004, so anything before than would have been capitalized... Thanks, --MNAdam 06:17, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Vandalism to North Dakota Democratic-NPL Party articles
As you have seen, the vandalism has increased in staggering numbers today to articles dealing with the ND Dem party. 45 instances from this IP, and 73 instances from this IP. I listed the party page itself, and Dorgan's article for page protection. If it persists, I will list the other articles that are constantly being vandalized. Hopefully this will subside as the election drifts further into the past. Weatherman90 23:22, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
- Well, for what its worth, I think you both would be well suited for adminship - but my opinion doesn't count for much against some of the RFA Nazis around. Weatherman90 03:16, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] The vandal returns
It appears that the ban of the IP range that continually vandalized ND Democrat articles was lifted sometime last week. Today, the vandal returned under the IP he/she had used before - 165.234.100.1, vandalising the same articles that were done before (ND Dem-NPL page, Joe Satrom, Heidi Heitkamp, Byron Dorgan, Earl Pomeroy, Quentin Burdick, Roger Johnson, as well as One of Alexwcovington's userboxes). On Satrom's page, the vandal continually reverts to some garbage he wrote several weeks ago about Elves - which this time went un-noticed for over 3 hours. On the other pages the vandal just reverted back to the vandalised version that he created last time around. Is a permanent block too much to ask for on an entire range? How far does the range span? - it would be unfortunate to have to block editing from all public computers in the state. Weatherman90 00:25, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] World's Largest Buffalo
It seems that there's a very good chance that Idontsteal fabricated the Chia Pet claim as with most of his other edits. The new link he just put in there is tightly linked with "idontsteal.net"... yeah...
I'm calling up the Arts Center in Jamestown and verifying today. --AlexWCovington (talk) 07:08, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
- It seems that the Chia Pet story is true! That's a relief. The Arts Center said, however, that they aren't heading the project, it's the local tourism board. --AlexWCovington (talk) 19:08, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
