Matthew 10:37, 15 December 2005 (UTC)Matthew Hello?

Hi there! Yes, there is a general rule against writing articles about yourself. Check out the info on Wikipedia:Notability (people) and Wikipedia:Autobiography. If you want to write something about yourself, you are certainly welcome to write on your user page. - Akamad 10:39, 15 December 2005 (UTC)

Matthew 10:40, 15 December 2005 (UTC) oo cool thanks, is it ok for me to link an article to my user page? (its a an article written on a mmorpg i'm programming)

Generally, no, you shouldn't create a link on an article to your userpage. - Akamad 10:42, 15 December 2005 (UTC)
And in this case, one may get the impression of advertising; see above [[Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not Lectonar 10:45, 15 December 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for the advise, heh i'm not advertising, a friend at my school told me that i should add it to wikipedia, well he was going to write it himself but he barely new what he was talking about, so i said i would. I have to go to a chemistry exam now, but thanks for all the advise you guys :D

[edit] My pleasure, Matt!

I'm also glad I'm not the only one ;-) RC patrol is somewhat addictive, isn't it? Cheers! Phædriel 21:09, 5 January 2006 (UTC)

Oh you mean Userboxes, right? well, all you have to do is place the proper Template on your user page, and it appears automatically. There appears to be an userbox fever going on these days, so there are literally hundreds you can choose to display on yours. The "Vandalism on sight" template is:

Other userboxes can be found at Wikipedia:Userboxes. Pick the ones you fancy the most, add the proper templates to your user page, and there you go ;-) Hope that helps. Cheers, Phædriel 21:47, 5 January 2006 (UTC)
 • Hey Matthew, thanks for the redirect fix. I had forgotten (or maybe never knew) it's case sensitive. Cheers mate. Dissolve

[edit] "2448 speech"

Your article 2448 speech appears to fail both of Wikipedia's verifiability and no original research principles. Would you like me to delete it for you? -- The Anome 12:23, 1 May 2006 (UTC)

Hi Matthew! In reference to your question on my talk page: unfortunately, if you can't give verifiable cites for the existence of something, it's not eligible to be in Wikipedia, regardless of whether or not you have personal experience of it: please see Wikipedia:Verifiability and WP:NOR for details of the policies on this. please don't take this as a personal put-down; I hope you're enjoying contributing here: we need all the good editors we can find. -- The Anome 12:29, 1 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:20ency1.1.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:20ency1.1.jpg. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 20:04, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Help request

What can I do for you? — ßottesiηi (talk) 00:00, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

As for talk page etiquette, there are many opinions on the correct method of posting and comment management, and users generally recognize all of them. First of all, it is very important to sign you comments by typing four tildes (~~~~). To send a message to another user, you must post the message on his/her talk page. It is general practice to post new messages at the bottom of another user's page, but some request that new messages be psted at the top. This is where people have different opinions. Some users post responses on their own talk page, on the talk page of the person who posted the original message, or both. I'm not aware of a limit on article size. — ßottesiηi (talk) 00:08, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
People who advocate the posting of responses on the same page say that it is easier to follow a conversation because the comments are not split up. Either way, when continuing a conversation, you should indent by using ":" to signify a new post. On talk pages you will usually only see one side of the conversation, and must visit the other user's talk page to see the other half. — ßottesiηi (talk) 00:11, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] hi

hmm firstly, when i'm using talk pages, do i send messages to people on my own page, or on ther user pages? like whats the correct thing to do? do we keep the convosation on one page, or do we go to each others.

Seconds thing, are all articles limited to 1024kb size?

Thank you for answering so quickly as well :D

Wow. The subtle differences you made to Jimbo's picture were... eerie. Brilliantly added, but eerie. He had two buttons instead of one, and his forehead was slightly off. I'm surprised it lasted for five days, hehe. Cowman109Talk 00:52, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
