[edit] New Zealand National Rail map
Hi Matt, thanks for your post re the NZ National Rail Map. Yes, I would be interested in helping to expand it. Is there an example of the current version?? Look forward to hearing from you :) --Tom Webb 10:54, 29 January 2006 (UTC) talk
- Hi Matt, thanks for the link. Have had a look and I was wondering if it would be best to create/recreate maps for rail links for various "city lines" such as the Connex map I made? I would be interested in also helping develop more detailed maps for NZ Wide lines as well. --Tom Webb 12:02, 29 January 2006 (UTC) talk

- Hi Matt, just responding to your posting. I am still keen on helping out. Please let me know what your thoughts are on the subject. Tom Webb 04:32, 4 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Your User Page
Hi Matt Just wanted to say that I love your layout in your user page. I noted that you said that "this user page template is not to be copied" - I was wondering if I could change my userpage to look similar as I think your layout is very nice and clean - of course I would credit your creativity and acknowledge your permission as well. Regards Tom.
- Thanks for that Matt, really appreciate you letting me use your template:)
[edit] New Zealand railways articles
Hi there!
Considering we're both putting in significant work on the New Zealand railway and locomotive articles, I was wondering if maybe we should more formally co-operate. Might save us both doing the same thing - the most obvious example of that is we both created NZR Locomotives templates. At the moment, I'm trying to complete articles for all the steam locomotive classes and branch lines, and once a friend returns a book to me, I'll be able to get stuck into the diesels, electrics, and railcars too. I can create the basic articles very quickly, but I lack photos and I'm not so good with technical details.
One future plan is to create a template for the various New Zealand railway preservation societies. I haven't decided on a title yet (maybe "NZ preserved rail"?), and I don't want to make it until a significant amount of societies actually have articles. Otherwise, it'll just be a collection of unsightly red links. At the moment, only a few organisations are covered, and none in decent length (though I think I have a history of the Silver Stream Railway lying around, so maybe I'll be able to improve that article soon).
I think that's all for now. Have a good one! - Axver 01:58, 30 January 2006 (UTC)

- Hi Matt looking at the Rail Category in the NZ Wiki Portal - a lot of the rail articles need work on. Lots of red links, missing articles, lack of pictures, etc. I agree that perhaps a 'team' is need to help co-ordinate and expand articles that are currently there, then moving onto adding new material. I would like to work with you and others in that project. To that end I propose and have setup) the basis of a project page under Rail Transport Category so that we can create a dialogue for co-ordination between people wanting to help. Perhaps we can also use that page for various discussions instead of cross-posting against our various user pages as well? Look forward to your feedback (ideally posting to the new project page). [edit] Cinema of New Zealand
I'm not sure why you removed a paragraph about Cinema of Unease from this article. I realise you almost certainly know far more about cinema of NZ than I do, but since you didn't leave an edit comment, I have no way to determine your reasons. Please reply at Talk:Cinema of New Zealand.-gadfium 02:02, 30 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Cleanup tag on Flake (Chocolate)
G'day Matt,
I stumbled across the Flake (chocolate) article today and noticed that you'd added a cleanup tag. Since you haven't put anything into the discussion page, I can't tell what you think needs cleaning up. If you could make this more specific, or add in your feedback to the article's discussion page that would be fantastic.
If you felt the article needed to be expanded, rather than cleaned up, then you'd normally use a {{stub}} tag. You should see a confectionary stub already mentioned at the bottom of the page.
All the best,
Jarich 05:35, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Cleanup tag on Olay
I note you put a clean up tag on Olay. You have not made a note on the talk page on what sort of clean up you think it needs. Please do. Obina 23:01, 22 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] ZM (New Zealand)
Hi! I've noticed you left a cleanup tag on ZM (New Zealand). I don't check this article often, but a quick scan of the article now leaves me unaware of a desperate need of cleanup. (There is room for improvement, but that's the case with very many articles). I'd like to encourage you to leave a note on the talk page explaining what about the article needs to be cleaned up, or alternatively, to change the tag to one listed on Wikipedia:Cleanup resources (I find the former easier because the latter involves searching for the right one... up to you.) This also applies to any instance where you recommend cleanup, so that fellow editors can understand what needs to be done (it may not be immediately obvious). I also recommend the use of {{cleanup-date}} instead of {{cleanup}}. Thanks. Neonumbers 13:22, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
- That's fair enough. I'd advise, then, that a quick note explaining so be left on the talk page of articles that you mark for cleanup ("This article needs a more formal tone" (I think this is what you meant?) is sufficient.) I've replaced the cleanup tag on that page with {{inappropriate tone}}. Feel free to remove the cleanup tag altogether if you feel that to be appropriate. Thanks. [edit] NZ maps
Hi Matt - I saw your comments to gadfium about the NZ town maps. As the creator of those map files I thought I'd add my 2c to the conversation over at user talk:Gadfium, so if you'd like to see the reason why I made those maps look so simplified, that's where to look! Grutness...wha? 06:54, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:ChildsPlay.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:ChildsPlay.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Quentin X 23:11, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
