Matthias Hues
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Matthias Hues (born February 14, 1959 in Waltrop, Germany) is a sportsman turned actor. He is also a fitness advisor.
His impressive stature has made him a staple of genre releases geared towards the video and cable markets. Among the massive body of work typical of actors in that range, Hues has managed to play several roles that made him a favorite among genre movie fans worldwide.
The first role Hues received in Hollywood was a part in the film No Retreat, No Surrender 2. The script was rewritten at the last minute when Jean-Claude Van Damme refused to reprise his role, and his character was made into Hues' Yuri.
His most famous role was as an alien in the 1990 film Dark Angel in which he uttered the famous line, "I come in peace." Since then, Hues has appeared largely in action films as henchmen or as intimidating villains in B-movies. He has also played one of the Klingon generals in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country.
Hues has also possibly been cast as Fujin in the third Mortal Kombat movie; however, rumors about this film's details have repeatedly proven to be unreliable.
