Matthew Price is a British journalist who currently works as a Middle East correspondent for the BBC. He began his career in 1994 as a trainee local radio reporter. In 1999 he moved on to report for the BBC's news programme for children, Newsround. In 2000 he was voted the Royal Television Society's Young Journalist of the Year. Following his work for Newsround he went on to work in a number of posts as a BBC television reporter, including Belgrade correspondent, and covering the Iraq War from an aircraft carrier in the Persian Gulf and from Baghdad.
