Matthew Pearl

Matthew Pearl wrote The Dante Club, a bestselling novel published in more than 40 countries.
He was educated at Harvard College and Yale Law School and now teaches at Emerson College. His second novel, a historical thriller about the death of Edgar Allan Poe called "The Poe Shadow," was published by Random House in the US on May 23, 2006. On 3 March 2006, Publishers Weekly wrote that "fans of Pearl's bestselling debut, The Dante Club, will eagerly embrace his second novel, a compelling thriller centered on the mysterious end of Edgar Allan Poe."
