Matthew Jay was a singer and songwriter from the UK (1979-2003).

He was signed to the EMI record label and released his debut album 'Draw' in 2001. His album was critically acclaimed around the globe especially in Europe, Canada and the USA. He worked closely with his family in music, especially his brother Eddy, who assisted his younger brother to create his early demos. These were presented to record labels including EMI, who signed him in 1999.

Matthew extensively toured the UK, USA and Canada to promote his album 'Draw' alongside musicians including Dido, Travis, The Divine Comedy and Starsailor. In 2002, Jay left EMI amicably, and began to write songs without a record deal. He died in September 2003 in a fall from the window of an apartment block in London.
