Matt White is a professional cyclist born 22 August 1974 in Sydney, NSW, Australia.

Matt started competitive cycling at age 14, turning professional in 1997 at age 22 with the ZVVZ-Giant team. Matt then went through Italian teams Amore e Vita (1998) and Vini Caldirola (1999) before finding himself on the US Postal Service team from 2001 through to 2003. In this period Matt was not selected to ride the Tour de France with Lance Armstrong but did ride the 2003 Vuelta a España in support of Roberto Heras. In 2004, Matthew moved to the French Cofidis team to join fellow Australian Stuart O'Grady.

He was selected in the Cofidis team to ride the 2004 Tour de France, but did not make the start line after falling and breaking his collar bone just hours prior to the start. Much to his relief he was selected again in 2005 and made it to the start.

Matthew also coached his wife, Jane Saville, to a bronze medal at the 2004 Athens Olympics in the 20 km race walk. The couple splits their time between Sydney and Olivia, Spain.
