Matt Ward (March 30, 1983) is a lacrosse player in the US. After finishing a legendary prep career at national lacrosse powerhouse Landon School in suburban Washington, DC, he committed to the University of Virginia. Ward led the Landon Bears to 2 straight national championships (finishing ranked #1 in the country by Inside Lacrosse and LaxPower) in 2001 and 2002, and was also named Washington Post All-Metro Player of the Year in both years, a task which had never been done and has not been done since.
In 2006, Ward played for Major League Lacrosse's Baltimore Bayhawks after being taken in the 1st round of the 2006 college draft, and was named MLL Rookie of the Year.
Ward was a 3 time All American at University of Virginia. He won the 2006 Tewaaraton Trophy. He led the school to the 2002 and 2006 NCAA championships. New owner of a puppy dog.

Acquired the nickname Piggy in high school, the orgins of the name are still under investigation. But none the less the name has stuck with Ward through the present day.
