Matthew (Matt) Robinson (previously Williams) was a fictional character in the Australian soap opera Neighbours. He first appeared in 1989 and left the show in 1991. Ashley Paske played the role.

[edit] About Matt

Matt was the product of a love affair between Hilary Robinson and Barry Dwyer. When Barry left Hilary, she subsequently adopted Matt out to a family friend, Margaret Williams. 17 years later, Matt came to Erinsborough looking for his real mother. Hilary wanted to keep Matt's identity a secret from her neighbours and had him pretend to be a visiting friend of the family who was only in Erinsborough to attend High school while lodging at number 30 with Hilary and Sharon Davies and nothing more. Matt didn't take too kindly to this and threatened to return to Adelaide if Hilary didn't reveal he was her son.

It wasn't until the day before Matt left Hilary decided to admit who he was in front of everyone at Des Clarke and Jane Harris' engagement party. From that point on, Matt changed his name to Robinson.

After Hilary moved back to Adelaide in 1990, Matt moved three doors up to Number 26, then later Number 28 and finally Number 32.

Matt dated Gemma Ramsay, Madge Bishop's niece for a little while, but things started to fall apart at the end of the year after an accident on Matt's Motorbike left Gemma temporarily paralysed.

Matt later returned to Adelaide to live with Hilary after breaking up with Gemma after her Ex-Boyfriend, Aidan Devlin made a reappearance.
