Matt Milburn was born in Manchester, England. He played Joe Spencer in the teen soap Hollyoaks. Hollyoaks was Milburn's debut professional acting role, after spending several years working as a model. He previously auditioned for the part of a lap dancer in Brookside, following the example of his brother Greg who played the soap's resident baddie Psycho.
