Matt Johnson (One True Voice)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Matt Johnson was a finalist of the reality TV show Popstars: The Rivals. He managed to get in the winning male group One True Voice. The group's debut single had to make do with number 2 due to the female winning group Girls Aloud getting number 1. Their next single 'Shakespeare's Way With Words' was slammed by critics as being cringeworthy and weak and only just scraped into the top 10 at number 10. It only lasted a few weeks in the top 40 and soon flew out of the charts altogether. A few weeks later it was announced that Daniel from the group who was considered by many to be the most talented, had quit the group to pursue a solo career. The next day the group all together called it quits and slammed their manager Pete Waterman. It was surprisingly announced that Matt Johnson had signed a solo contract with Polydor Records. This surprised many who questioned Polydor's decision to sign him. However despite his signing he never released an album or single and is thought to have just a few months after signing for them, left the label. No other member of the group has ever signed a solo contract. Matt Johnson auditioned for The X Factor in 2004 although he was unsuccessful and didn't make it past the first round.
