Matt Flynn is the current backup quarterback for the College American Football team LSU Tigers.
After starting quarterback JaMarcus Russell was injured in the 2005 SEC Championship game against the University of Georgia Bulldogs, Flynn finished the game for Russell. He was then given the nod to start for the Tigers in the 2005 Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl against the University of Miami Hurricanes. He led the Tigers to a 40 to 3 route of the Hurricanes.
Flynn is the only non-starting quarterback in LSU history to have three touchdown passes in a single quarter (against North Texas).
