Starting in January 2006, Matt appeared in ITV's reality ice-skating competition Dancing on Ice as the professional skating partner to stage and screen performer Bonnie Langford. They were favourites throughout the competition due to their routines characterised by many dramatic and impressive lifts and tricks which often showed off Bonnie's flexibility. They finished 3rd and achieved the series highest mark of 28.5 which included two sixes, the only sixes seen in the competition.
In the Australian version of Dancing on Ice produced by the Australian TV station TCN-9 in Sydney, Matt's partner was Australian model Lara Bingle.
