Matsumae (松前町; -chou) is a town located in Matsumae District, Oshima, Hokkaido, Japan. The former home of the Matsumae Han, it has an Edo period castle, Matsumae Castle, unusual for Hokkaido.
As of 2004, the town has an estimated population of 9,917 and a density of 33.84 persons per km². The total area is 293.09 km².
