Matlock, Washington

Matlock is an unincorporated community in Mason County, Washington, United States. Matlock is the primary population center for the western part of Mason County, a sporadically populated logging area. Matlock features nearby lakes and recreational opportunities, including fishing and hiking. Matlock consists of a church, food bank, store, post office, a grange, and a k-12 school. The Mary M. Knight Owls are the local school mascot. It is located near beautiful Lake Newatzel. Matlock is a short drive form the town of Shelton, Washington. Every year in early May, Matlock hosts the Old Timers Festival at Mary M. Knight School campus. Here you can find food, crafts, tractors, and fun for the whole family. Matlock is about a forty five minute drive form the state capital city of Olympia, Washington.
