Mathilukal (Walls) (1989) is an award-winning feature film directed by Adoor Gopalakrishnan. The film is in Malayalam. It stars Mammootty. The film is an adaptation of the novel Mathilukal by Vaikom Muhammad Basheer. The film's music is composed by Vijay Bhaskar. It was well received upon screening at the Venice Film Festival, and won 4 awards at the National Film Awards in 1990.

The story is autobiographical and deals with Basheer's time in Poojappura Central Jail, Thiruvananthapuram in 1942. Before being sentenced with a prison term, he had to spend time at Kasba police station - locked-up at Kollam awaiting trial, during which he wrote many of his police-stories.
