Mathemanic is the alias of Thomas Sorenson, a fictional mutate character in the Marvel Comics Universe.

Mathemanic was a university student when he was used by Genetech for research in creating superhuman beings. Developing psionic abilities and taking on the codename of Mathemanic he became a member of Psionex. He has fought both against and alongside the New Warriors. He was also put in a coma during a battle against Terrax.

When the Commission on Superhuman Activities persuaded the Thunderbolts to track down super-villains and recruit them to join the pro-registration side of the Superhuman Registration Act, Mathemanic decided to join the Thunderbolts.

Psionically attacks by projecting abstract mathematical information into his victim's brain overwhelming his victim with the information. Also has the ability to realize mathematical concepts giving him power over the fundamental forces of the universe. He has used these for a variety of effects including increasing the gravity around a target, and manipulating time to age a target or slow down the movements of a target.
