Mater Dei Catholic College was officially opened on December 11, 2003 By Kay Hull (MP Of The Riverina) and Bishop Gerard Hanna (Bishop Of The Diocese Of Wagga Wagga.) The day was also an Orientation Day for Grade Six students to see what there new school was like. The opening was supported by a Mass in which a memorable plaque and crosses for the school were unveiled and blessed. Bishop Gerard Hanna then made his way through the school with the Foundation Principal Clem Welch, School Chaplain, Fr Matt Austin and Catholic Schools Office Manager, Finance And Resources, David Shaw. Bishop Hanna blessed the place with holy water.
