Lakshmi was the wife of Tej Bhan Bhalla, a shopkeeper of village Basarke of Amritsar district. He belonged to the Bhalla sub-caste among the Khatris. She gave birth to Guru Amar Das, the third Sikh Guru in 1479. Amar Das was the eldest son of his parents.
