Master of Surgery

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Master of Surgery is an advanced medical degree. It is commonly abbreviated M.Ch. or Ch.M. (as well as M.Chir.) from its Latin name, Magister Chirurgiae, as well as M.S. by programs in India.

A typical program lasts between 1 and 3 years depending on mode of attendance. The possession of a medical degree is normally a prerequisite. There is also a similar Masters degree in Obstetrics (MAO) in Ireland.
