Master game server

A master game server is an internet service which receives information about running game servers and their rules and deliveres this information upon requests to clients, e.g. a game server browser.

Well known examples are the semi-public GameSpy master servers, which are encrypted and only available to GameSpy Arcade users or the disputed gslist tool, and the following public services:
