Massachusetts Senate elections, 2006

The Massachusetts Senate currently has 34 Democrats and 6 Republicans. The election was held on November 7, 2006. The Democrats picked up one open seat. No other seats switched parties, bringing the breakdown for the 2007 session to 35 Democrats, 5 Republicans.
The 2006 Massachusetts House election was held on the same date as the Senate election, as well as Federal and Gubernatorial elections (see Massachusetts general election, 2006).
Massachusetts Senators serve two-year terms.[1]
