Route 127A is a north-south Massachusetts state route that runs from Gloucester to Gloucester. All of the route is in Cape Ann, and it serves as an alternate to Route 127. Route 127A was commissioned in the early 1950s[1].
The route starts in Gloucester at Route 127, soon after, it meets the northern terminus of Route 128. The first part of Route 127A heads in a northeast direction, then northwest into Rockport. Just northwest of downtown, Route 127A rejoins Route 127.
