[edit] Result of Armenia strawpoll

Thanks for your comments on the Armenia talkpage. I will choose not to take the phrase insane illogicacy personally, as per the policy of assuming good faith. The reason I have proposed this compromise is because, as User:Caligvla's official advocate (see AMA, Association of Members' Advocates), I am trying to find a reasonable compromise between the two points of view on this issue. I personally have no view about the issue of Armenia; I'm only trying to do my job as an advocate by generating a constructive consensus, as per Wikipedia policy. At the moment, it seems there are equally strong sources/references on both sides (see my talkpage and also Talk:Armenia). If you would like to suggest a compromise that seems more reasonable to you, please do so on my talk page. Walton monarchist89 12:15, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

you mean the quotes in the article? ok I will try. bye for today. thanks for decent talkneurobio 03:19, 8 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] RfC opening on Armenia

Given the complete deadlock on this issue, and the failure of the strawpoll, I think the time has come to take the dispute-resolution process to the next level by opening a request for comment. This will open the debate up to the whole Wikipedia community, and hopefully generate, if not consensus, then at least a majority view. I will invite all users involved in this issue to contribute to the RfC, which can be found at Wikipedia:Requests for comment/History and geography. I realise that you may now be a bit bored with having to explain your views again and again on different pages, but as an advocate I think this is the only way to finally end this dispute. [edit] Strawpoll

NB This poll has now closed, it being Friday 10th November and about 10.30am where I live. The numbers are as follows:

  • Support 6 (although User:Hamparzoum's existence has been disputed by User:Tekleni.
  • Neutral 1.
  • Oppose 10.

As such, no mandate has appeared for making the requested changes to the article. As previously advertised, Caligvla and I are taking a break from this dispute for a week. After this, the case may be taken to the mediation cabal, although I hope to avoid this eventuality. Walton monarchist89 10:38, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

Hey Marshall, be sure to check this out when you get a chance. Best, Clevelander 22:45, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Red color

See Template talk:Infobox SSR#Red color. -- Clevelander 16:31, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

I changed the red to be slightly darker and less glaring. Is that better? -- Clevelander 18:08, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging for Image:Armenian COA.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Armenian COA.jpg. However, the copyright tag you've used is deprecated or obsolete, and should not be used. This could be because the tag is inaccurate or misleading, or because it does not adequately specify the copyright status of the image. For a list of copyright tags that are in current use, see the "Public domain", "Free license", and "Fair use" sections of Wikipedia:Image copyright tags.

[edit] License tagging for Image:SovietArmenian flag.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:SovietArmenian flag.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 04:07, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Soviet template

I like it! I've fixed it up a bit, though, if you don't mind and I've redirected the older template to it. Again, great work! -- Clevelander 23:52, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Operation Ring

That's a very good question. I'm afraid I can't answer that though.--Eupator 00:22, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks for adding references to Battle of Berlin

I do not like to cause other contributors work, but when I saw the figure of 3,300 aircraft for the German side, I suspected that something was very wrong and I started to distrust all figures. The German article mentions >100 aircraft for the German side which sounds far more realistic. Andries 19:20, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

How's this version?:

It was the closest thing I could find to the final version of the COA in decent quality. What I never took much care in noticing was how the Soviet COAs evolved overtime. -- Clevelander 19:34, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
