Talk:Mario Party 8
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
what? NONE of that has been confirmed. The game has't even been mentioned yet. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.34.92.196 (talk • contribs) .
Why is there a talk page if the game hasn't been confirmed? --Brandon Dilbeck 03:36, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
- Mario Party 8 has NOW been confirmed by Nintendo. Search this article to find the name. Thus, the game exists, and so should the page even if it is a stub for the time being. Double Dash (Talk to me!) 20:26, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
Actually, almost everything after the first paragraph is speculation. We know it's on the Wii, so that part of the trivia is ok, but everything else? I think it should be deleted until further notice. Dang, I sound like a mean creep... -Stumper
A bunch of sites are putting up March 5, 2007 for the Mario Party 8 release date. I'm not sure where they are getting it from though. 12:10pm, 18 November 2006
Oh, yeah? I'd better look into it. Knuckles sonic8 20:32, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
Still checking it out but so far, IGN says TBA, still. Gamestats just assumes it's on the 31st of December. Where did you find it? Knuckles sonic8 14:35, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] This character confirmation stuff...
IIRC, the screen and video came from that Nintendo event. Isn't that official enough? Oh, and why delete all the confirmed characters, but leave Hammer Bro.? Hardcore gamer 48 10:26, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
Probably was an accident; reverted it back to last change where it was last seen. Knuckles sonic8 20:53, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] 14th Character?
Head onto the German MP8 Site and this statement was made, and I quote [in German]:
Using a translator, this became, in English...
"Some mean, to be able to recognize on the basis the picture for the character selection (screen SHOT #14), that there the so far secret?- Characters on black background easy shades exhibit. And on the basis these shades is one these?- Characters in for instance the mass or the form have, like Mario (also the outlines of the cap are to recognize). Therefore believe some, that it itself thereby around Mario Morgana, Baby Mario or vll. also baby Luigi to act could."
Basically, what I wanna highlight is: "Baby Mario" or "baby Luigi".
Any thoughts? Source: German MP8 site. Knuckles sonic8 04:56, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Vandalism
Just so everyone knows, this page has become an object of vandalism quite frequently, recently (redundant?). Would anyone else but me like to take action against it? Knuckles sonic8 22:47, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
I would. I have reported all vandalism on this page to administrators. Why don't we request that it is semi-protected? Henchman 2000 19:20 4 December 2006.
Yeah, why not? I actually had that in mind. Knuckles sonic8 20:49, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
Should we ask an administrator to make it semi-protected? Henchman 2000 9:12, 5 December 2006.
I said yeah we should. Knuckles sonic8 21:18, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
Then let's do it! Should I do it, should you or should we both? Henchman 2000 19:22 6 December 2006
Be my guest; I don't know how to do it anyways. Knuckles sonic8 20:45, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
I tried, but they said that there wasn't enough vandalism. Henchman 2000 19:22 8 December 2006
[edit] Voice Actors
The article states that Shigeru Miyamoto is going to voice Birdo and Dry Bones. Is that really true? 17:40, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
It's all speculation, my friend. Removed it. Knuckles sonic8 23:45, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Incorrect reference
'Magic Target Ride is a pun on one of the songs in the fictional movie Aladdin called "Magic Carpet Ride".'
The name of the song is "(A) Whole New World." There is a song titled "Magic Carpet Ride," but it's by the group Steppenwolf and has nothing to do with Aladdin. - 68.103.1.71 06:14, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for the fix. Knuckles sonic8 01:53, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
I have to ask... how did you find out the names for some mini-games, Knuckles? I find it odd that Nintendo called one "Statutory Rope", seeing as its pun is something that Nintendo should be steering clear of, especially in a Mario game. Though, it's quite a clever title if you think about it... >_> Hardcore gamer 48 12:02, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
Actually, I didn't. I was wondering that myself and was gonna post a new topic regarding that. Users have been posting names regarding the mini-games without sources. I was (and , to tell you the truth, still am) wondering if this is truthful or not. People could be just making up these names, if you know what I mean. But as I wasn't sure at the time, I edited the Puns section anyways although, I didn't necessarily agree with it, necessarily. So, to answer your question, I'm just as puzzled as you are.
