Talk:Maria Storm

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

[edit] A hoax, right?

This article can't be real. Maria Storm is a fictional TV journalist on Reno 911 played by Lisa Lo Cicero, UBS is the fictional network in the Paddy Chayevsky movie Network, the only Google hit on the "Maria Storm Show" is this article, and there is no record at the FEC of political contributions by anybody named Maria Storm. I'm putting the hoax tag on the article. Casey Abell 17:05, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

I agree and suggest an AfD nomination. --Satori Son 19:00, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
Deletion policy suggests prodding suspected hoaxes ("and/or" using the hoax tag itself). I'll let the hoax tag stay on the page a few days and see if it generates any more discussion on the talk page. If nobody objects, I'll prod the article. Casey Abell 19:30, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
I've now prodded the article and left the standard warning on its creator's talk page. Casey Abell 18:02, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
One other point: the only article (except the redirect) that links to this hoax is EarthTV. I don't think that article is a complete hoax because EarthTV actually seems to exist (or at least it has a web site). But I believe the same user who hatched Maria Storm slipped some nonsense about our old friend, the UBS network, and some fictional anchors into EarthTV. The article already has the OR tag on it. Take a look and see if you think it deserves the hoax tag as well. Thanks. Casey Abell 19:44, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
  • I have removed the ref to Maria Storm in that article, as it was unsourced (obviously). Not sure what else to clean up there; hopefully I can get back to it at some point. --Satori Son 19:46, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
