Maryland Line

The Maryland Line was a formation within the Continental Army, composed of infantry regiments from the state of Maryland. Because of the quality of regiments, George Washington refered to the Maryland units as his "Old Line," giving Maryland one of its nicknames as "The Old Line State."[1]
