Mary Star of the Sea is Zwan's only album, released on January 28, 2003. It is a generally upbeat pop-rock record, driven by melodic basslines, flashy drumming, and lots and lots of guitars. "Honestly" and "Lyric" were released as singles. The album is named after a Catholic church in Key West, Florida. Although it reached # 3 in the U.S., it didn't have staying power in the charts, and soon descended the charts. Billy Corgan announced the band's dissolution in September 2003, which he later attributed to internal conflict.
