Mary De Moss

Mary Panton, née Mary De Moss, is a prominent member of the Church of Scientology and former head of AMC Publishing, a Scientologist-owned company. Panton continues to do occasional work with AMC as an assistant to Bennetta Slaughter.
Panton also has headed some of the Scientology Office of Special Affairs front groups such as the now-defunct bigotwatch.net and the Foundation for Religious Tolerance. [1]

Panton is a graduate of New York University School of the Arts. According to her official Scientologist bio [2], she has acted off and on Broadway, and was voted Best Actress for two years running in Florida. She currently lives in Clearwater, Florida.
[edit] The Lisa McPherson Incident
In 1995, Panton received much criticism over the Lisa McPherson wrongful death lawsuit, a news story which made worldwide headlines. According to the LMT, Panton was one of the Scientologists who went to the Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater and coerced McPherson back to Scientology's Fort Harrison Hotel (against her physician's wishes) where she subsequently died, covered in unexplained bruises and insect bites. Mary is co-owner of Seekers of the Lost, [4] an organization whose stated purpose is to reunite adopted children with their biological parents. Their FAQ states that to join their registry, "You give us all the information you have or know about yourself and the person you are looking for." [5]
