Maruti Zen

The Maruti Zen is a 5-door hatchback sold in India. It is similar to the model of the 1994 Maruti Alto. Production of the Zen was ceased after the introduction of the Maruti Swift and its subsequent impact on sales.

Maruti Udyog is all set to launch a new Zen in December 2006. The new Zen is titled, Maruti Zen Estilo and has the same engine,same power and no new features when compared to then older Zen. Maruti has just altered the design a bit and made it look more like the Wagon R. The pricing is also nearly the same but the ride is better than the previous version.

The model will be based on the WagonR platform and will have an 1100 cc engine. It will be positioned on the style platform. Sources say the new model will come with a price premium.
