Marumori, Miyagi

Marumori (丸森町; -machi) is a town located in Igu District, Miyagi, Japan.

As of 2003, the town has an estimated population of 17,139 and a density of 62.70 persons per km². The total area is 273.34 km². Marumori means "cirlce forest" in Japanese and Marumori town is made up of farmland surrounded by a circular portion of heavily-forested mountain range. It takes about one hour by train to go from Marumori to Sendai, the largest city in the Tohoku region of Japan.
