[edit] History
The station was opened in October 1988 by British Rail and is one the most recent stations on this largely Victorian line. It is adjacent to a Tesco supermarket, and was built as a precondition for the supermarket itself to be built in conjuction with The Royal County of Berkshire.

Entrances are found on both platforms, althoug only Platform 1 (towards Waterloo has a ticket office with Platform 2 (towards Reading backing on to housing and open green space.
[edit] Services
Martins Heron is served by trains from Reading to London Waterloo, which operate every 30 minutes Monday to Saturday, and every 60 minutes on Sundays.
