Martine Batchelor (1953 - present) was born in France and is married to Stephen Batchelor. She ordained as a Buddhist nun in 1975 under Kusan Sunim at Songgwang Sa monastery until her departure in 1985. She also did some Zen practice in both Japan and Taiwan.
