Martin Nesbitt

Martin Luther Nesbitt, Jr. is an attorney and member of the North Carolina General Assembly. A Democrat from Asheville, North Carolina, Nesbitt was elected to eleven terms in the state House, representing constituents in [[Buncombe County, North Carolina|Buncombe County]His mother, Mary Cordell Nesbitt, held the House seat prior to her death; upon her death Martin Nesbitt was appointed to fill her remaining term.]. In February of 2003, Martin Nesbitt was appointed to the North Carolina Senate by Governor Mike Easley to fill the vacant seat left by the resignation of Steve Metcalf.
