Martin Johnston

Martin Johnston (November 1947 - 21 June 1990) was an Australian poet.

Martin Johnston was born in Sydney in November, 1947. His parents were George Johnston and Charmian Clift who were both writers. Martin's early childhood was spent in London and Sydney.

In 1954 the family moved to Greece. they returned to England in 1960. In 1964 they moved to Australia.

In October 1982 he married Roseanne Bonney, and they lived in Darlinghurst, Sydney.

He died on 21 June 1990.

In 1993, the University of Queensland Press published Martin Johnston – Selected Poems and Prose, a selection of most of his published poetry, essays and book reviews, along with some interviews and photographs.
