Agent Martin Fitzgerald is a fictional character portrayed by actor Eric Close on the CBS television drama Without a Trace. He is a member of the FBI missing persons case squad in New York City led by Agent Jack Malone. Martin comes from a privileged family background and in early seasons had to prove his mettle to the other agents on the squad, who distrusted him. He recently ended an affair with Agent Samantha Spade. In the third season he battled an addiction to prescription drugs after he was shot in the line of duty.
