Martin Connor

Martin Connor is a New York State Senator from Brooklyn. He was first elected to the state senate in 1978. He is a Democrat.
In 1999, as Minority Leader of the State Senate, he supported a vote to abolish New York City's Commuter Tax, in an effort to win a open Senate seat in Rockland County, despite the opposition of Mayor Rudy Giuliani and other city officials.
He is currently involved in the closest primary he has been in for several years, against Ken Diamondstone, a developer of affordable housing.
