Martin Brewer

Martin Brewer (b. September 1987) is a fictional character from the hit drama 7th Heaven. He is portrayed by Tyler Hoechlin . He is from the fictional town of Glenoak, California and he attends the Glenoak Community Church.

Martin Brewer is the only son of the Marine, Bill Brewer. His mother died when he was young and, until he was 16, he lived with his Aunt Betsy. During his sophomore year in high school the Brewer's moved to Glenoak, California. Martin literally walked into the Camden's life by chance. He followed Ruthie Camden and her then boyfriend Peter to the Camden house and everyone assumed that he was a friend of Simon's, except Simon who thought he was there to see his dad. While Martin's aunt, an aspiring fashion designer, wanted the two of them to move to New York, Reverand Camden managed to convince her to let Martin stay with them so as not to uproot him again.
Martin's favorite sport is baseball and has been scouted by both colleges and professional baseball teams. One team even offered him a contact during his sophomore year in high school (which he eventually turned down to complete his education). Martin lived with the Camdens for two years before his father's tour in Iraq finally ended and he returned home. Prior to his senior year in high school, while visiting Simon Camden, Martin met and (against his personal beliefs) slept with a girl named Sandy Jameson. The event resulted in Sandy getting pregnant. Martin graduated early and with the assistance of Reverand Camden and his high school baseball coach started college a semester early. He now lives near Sandy and his son.
While Martin was not in the 10th season finale, Sandy makes an appearance after the failed wedding of Simon and Rose. The episode ends with Sandy telling Simon she needs to speak with him. Much speculation surrounds this, but nothing has been made clear as of the most recent episodes. In addition, Ruthie still has feelings for Martin, even though he left Glen Oak to be with Aaron and Sandy. 7th Heaven was renewed for a full season on the the CW Television Network, leaving room for this storyline to be resolved.

While the overall story seems to have ended (with the episode Baby Makes Three) there is still some debate whether Martin really is Aaron's father. Based on the events of Season 10, Aaron was born in January of 2006 (the following episode was Valentines day). That would place Aaron's conception date about the end of April or some time in May of 2005. It was said during the initial episode that Martin visited Simon and met Sandy in the summer (after school let out). Since most high schools end the school year in June the dates do not match up. While it might be argued that Aaron was a premie it should also be pointed out that Aaron was not taken to a NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) immediately following his birth.
