Martha MacCallum

Martha Bowes MacCallum is a news anchor on Fox News Channel, who joined the network in 2004 and is based in the New York City bureau. Currently, she hosts the 2:00 p.m. ET weekday edition of Fox News Live, and will host The Live Desk at 1:00 p.m. ET starting September 25. Also, she is a substitute host for On the Record.

MacCallum began her career as a reporter for Corporate Finance magazine. Before Fox, MacCallum was an anchor/reporter on CNBC's Morning Call with Martha MacCallum and Ted David in addition to Checkpoint, an evening show which examined the business side of security and war. Prior to those shows, she frequently contributed to The News with Brian Williams, Today, NBC affiliates, and CNBC World. In addition, MacCallum also created the series "Inside the Business" for Business Center, a past show on CNBC.
Before CNBC, MacCallum was an anchor & reporter for WBIS-TV, a sports and business network in New York, in 1996. Prior to that, she was at Wall Street Journal Television where she served as a business news correspondent and anchor for The Wall Street Journal Report, World Market Outlook and Business USA from 1991 to 1996.
Currently she works for the Fox News Channel. On Fox News Live she covers the day's biggest stories. She oftens posts questions at the beginning of the program requesting viewer comments. One such question asked what women look for in men. A fellow correspondent then asked Martha to weigh in. She responded saying she thought communication and money were important. MacCallum has stated she would love to interview Bill Gates when asked by Lorrie Lynch.

MacCallum wrote a column titled Have Fun Girls commenting on the murder of Imette St. Guillen. In it she sympathizes with young women saying "I was young and foolish once...I remember staying out too late. I even remember closing a few bars". She continued on saying, "We all do stupid things now and then when we are finding our way in the world". She urged young women to be careful, aware, and responsible. When porn star Savanna Samson sought to expand her resume of sex work to include selling alcohol, Martha said "good for her". Samson's wine received praise from taste testers and wine experts.

Martha MacCallum has often misrepresented her age in various interviews. She has claimed to be in her early thirties when she was 37. In a 2005 interview, she claimed to be thirty-something when she was in fact forty-something.

Martha was born and raised in Wyckoff, New Jersey. She referred to the town as being "country" in her Fox Fans video. MacCallum earned a bachelor's degree from St. Lawrence University. She currently lives in Ridgewood, New Jersey. She is married and has chosen not to adopt her husband, Daniel Gregory's last name, at least not in her public persona as an anchorwoman. Martha has three children named Reed, Harry, and Elizabeth.
