Mardakert (Մարտակերտ in Armenian, officially known as Ağdərə in Azerbaijan) is a province in the Nagorno-Karabakh region (self-proclaimed republic, officially part of Azerbaijan). It is in the north of the region, consisting of portions of two Azerbaijani rayons, Kalbajar and Tartar. The Sarsang reservoir and Gandzasar monastery are both in this region.
