Mark Wyland

Mark Bryan Wyland (born October 27, 1946) is a U.S. Republican politician from the state of California, who represents the 38th District in the California State Senate.
Wyland grew up in Escondido, California, where he co-owned a family business. Wyland has a BA in international relations from Pomona College and an MA in political science from Columbia University. Before his election to the California State Assembly, Wyland served on the Escondido Union School District Board.
Wyland was first elected in 2000 to represent the 74th Assembly District, which includes Vista, Carlsbad, Escondido, Encinitas, and San Marcos, all in San Diego County, California. Wyland was the Whip for the Republican Caucus. He was reelected in 2002 and 2004.
In 2006, Wyland was elected to the California State Senate, representing the 38th Senate District.
