Mark Williams (born in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire in 1959) is an English actor, comedian, scriptwriter and presenter. He was educated at Brasenose College, Oxford where he read English. He is best known as one of the stars of the popular BBC sketch show, The Fast Show. He also played Olaf Petersen in Red Dwarf and Kirk in Carrie and Barry.

More recently, he started to get notice from younger audiences when he appeared as Arthur Weasley in the second, third and fourth Harry Potter films.

On 3 July 2006 he appeared as an old roadie friend of Tommy Saxondale, in the third episode of the BBC comedy series Saxondale.

He is currently (August 2006) presenting a documentary series titled Mark Williams' Big Bangs on the history of explosives, a follow-on to previous series Mark Williams on the Rails, and Industrial Revelations.

  • Williams is a fan of Aston Villa and Brighton & Hove Albion.
  • Williams can often be seen drinking at The Ladybird inn, in Bromsgrove.
  • Williams acted alongside Tom Felton in The Borrowers (1997) and now does again as Felton currently plays Malfoy in the Potter series.
